About - International Skin care Nursing Group

Vision
Through optimal use of the nursing resource and in collaboration with other professionals and agencies, the world's population will have access to adequate facilities and resources for the promotion of healthy skin for all.

Aim and purpose
Through its activities ISNG aims to raise the profile of skin health and the contribution that nurses can make in this area of health care. Broadly speaking the group's objectives relate to marshalling and co-ordinating the existing skills and resources in skin care nursing and making these available to all. The group will do these through a number of strategies including:

  • International conferences
  • Publications
  • Developing an International Nurses Curriculum Framework for skin care
  • Working with other groups to develop a database of best practice in skin care nursing
  • Maintaining and developing a website which gives access to skin care resources for nurses and other health care professionals
  • Lobbying for greater attention to be given to issues related to skin health

ISNG is proud to be an affiliate group of the International Council of Nurses.

Advisory Board
The work of the ISNG is directed by an Advisory Board consisting of nurses and a doctor from various countries. The Board works voluntarily to promote the aims and principles of ISNG. It is supported in this work by Phase II International who act as secretariat and is financially support by Merck Serono through an unrestricted grant.
